Doctors Keep Switching
Anti Anxiety Medication
I need help with my anxiety disorder...
Anxiety Question:
The doctors keep switching my anti anxiety medication and I feel it is making it worse.
Anxiety Answer:
You need to let your doctor know how you are feeling.
You also need to give the anti anxiety medications time to get into your system. Many anti anxiety medications can take 2-6 weeks for you to start feeling the benefits from them.
Are you seeing just a family practitioner for your anxiety meds or are you seeing a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist? The latter two are preferred for anxiety/panic/depression, than a regular doctor. Not only do they understand the anti anxiety medications better but they also understand the anxiety disorder and its causes better too.
Personally, I think that you need to see someone who deals with anxiety disorders on a daily basis and go from there.
You shouldn't have to be switching anti anxiety medications all the time. This is not good for your system!
I won't tell you what you should take or what works for me, because everyone is different and has different reactions to meds.
People also have different causes for anxiety and different levels too. All of these things need to be taken into consideration, and you need to be evaluated to find out where your anxiety is coming from and the severity of it.
