Alternative Treatment for Social Anxiety Disorder

I'm looking for an alternative to social anxiety disorder treatment...

Anxiety Question:

I have social anxiety disorder and need some advice.
Getting medication or therapy is quite expensive right now, and I was wondering are there any herbs or anything else that is safe to take that will give the same results as the medication and therapy?

Anxiety Answer:

I have heard of St. Johns Wart. It is supposed to help with anxiety and depression.

I have a mild case of social anxiety disorder and do not have health insurance for counseling or medication. I have dealt with it by exercising at the gym and going on walks.

I also get up in the morning and make goal sheets. I write down 5-6 things that I want to get done in the day. Sometimes they aren't hard things or social anxiety related, but sometimes they are.

Usually it's things like clean a room, get the laundry done, cook dinner, go shopping, call a friend, invite a friend to lunch, etc.

If I start out in the day doing these goals and start crossing them off, I always feel like I have to finish and it motivates me to get everything done.

I feel so much more confident after I accomplish the little things that my self esteem stays up there and I'm ready to tackle problems.

Practice Meditation To Conquer The Madness

"I practice meditation myself every day and have done so for decades. I'm at a stage where I couldn't' survive without my half hour of "alone time" or recharging time." I do recommend that you build meditation into your life - even if you never knew one episode of panic and if your anxiety levels are fine. It helps to counter the 21st century madness of constant noise, information overload, impossible deadlines and dinners being burnt."
