Suggestions for Separation Anxiety

My six month-old is showing signs of separation anxiety.

Anxiety Question:

I'm a stay-at-home mom to a six month-old showing signs of separation anxiety. She's just started freaking out when ever I leave her sight. She isn't even happy with her daddy holding her; it has to be me.

Do you have any suggestions on how to at least get her to be okay with daddy while I try to cook dinner, go to the bathroom, etc?

Anxiety Answer:

This separation anxiety is a phase that will pass.

Most infants go through a phase where they will only calm down if they're with their mother.

As for what can be done about separation anxiety; find something the baby really likes, and have Dad distract her with that while you are cooking, etc.
