General Anxiety Disorder -
Is it Normal to Fear?

I was diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder last year;
I was worrying about everything and afraid of everything.

Anxiety Question:

I was diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder last year; it was really bad, I was worrying about everything and afraid of everything.

I finally went to some counseling and was put on some anti anxiety medication and have been doing great ever sense then.

Now we are in the middle of trying to sell our house, adopting a new baby (first time parents and we get the baby in two weeks), and buying a new house. I can feel the anxiety coming on and I get scared because I really don't want to feel the way I did before.

Is this normal to be afraid of feeling that way again?

Anxiety Answer:

Why would you take on so many life changing events at once?

Yes, it is normal to be afraid of your general anxiety disorder resurfacing, especially under the circumstances.

You need to take one huge step at a time. You are overwhelmed; it's too much at once. Selling a house, buying a house, adopting a baby; give yourself some credit and try and not to take on so much at once.

My fears have greatly lessened!

Before I started listening to your "Dissolving Panic and Anxiety" program, I was in a terrible state not wanting to leave the house. Even going into the local supermarket was an ordeal for me! Having religiously used this program for four months, I find my fears have greatly lessened. I was having sleepless nights worrying about trifles, but now I find life far less daunting and my courage is opening doors for me.

Thanks!
