Fight Anxiety Attacks with Logic

Anxiety attacks and boredom - can we fight them with Logic?

Anxiety Question:

Anxiety attacks and boredom - can we fight them with Logic?
Do we even want to - and why?

Anxiety Answer:

You are in control of your thoughts. If you allow anxiety and boredom to dominate your thinking, eventually your mental state will compromise your physical health.

Make sure you eat healthy foods. If you prepare your own meals you can control the salt, sugar and other ingredients. I love chocolate, but don't eat it anymore, because of the anxiety attacks that came when the sugar wore off. That one change has made a world of difference in my life.

Make sure you exercise. Walking is just fine, you don't need to do more than walk for 20-30 minutes 3-4 days a week; but if you can do more, you'll be amazed at how rarely you'll feel bored or anxious.

When I get overwhelmed and feel an anxiety attack coming on or things are not working out, I stop what I'm doing and go for a walk. After several years of going for a walk, starting with 1/2 mile, I now hike 3-10 miles a day, 5 days a week. My problems are the same as always, but my ability to prioritize and solve problems has vastly improved from a few simple changes.
