Cure for Social Anxiety Disorder

Are there any cures for social anxiety disorder?

Anxiety Question:

I have social anxiety disorder which is manifested as sweating buckets in public or in an uncomfortable situation.
Are there any cures?

Anxiety Answer:

Social Anxiety Disorder is actually a very common disorder which may occur when speaking in public or by just being in a public area.

In social anxiety unlike generalized anxiety disorder, anxiolytics (tranquilizers) do not help.

What might be helpful in your case is a small dose of a blood pressure medicine (b-blocker) which does help with social anxiety.

Please see your physician for help with this treatable condition.
