Stress & Anxiety - Biting

I bite my nails, the skin around my nails, the inside of my cheek...

Anxiety Question:

If there is a piece of skin on my fingers like hanging there or peeled off I will cut it off or bite it off. I can’t stop. Does anyone know how I can’t stop this?

I know it’s probably caused by stress and anxiety.

Anxiety Answer:

Try chewing gum or suckings.

If you change your habit, it may help.

Try to pay attention to when you are doing it too!

If you are doing it when you are bored, try finding activities, such as cleaning, going for a walk or some hobby.

If you are doing it when you are under stress and anxiety, try breathing exercises.
