Anxiety Disorder Symptoms
My body will randomly sometimes shake and twitch and I can’t really control it.
Anxiety Question:
My body will randomly sometimes shake and twitch and I can’t really control it. I don’t know what it is but I think it’s anxiety disorder, because I went to the doctor lately for other symptoms such as shortness of breath, heart pounding, tingling in the body, throat closing etc. and he said it’s bad anxiety. But lately this little random twitch thing has gone on.
Has anyone ever experienced this?
Anxiety Answer:
I wish I could alleviate every person going through anxiety and/or panic attacks. I have been a sufferer of anxiety disorder for many years. At first, I thought I was going crazy. I was not! I thought I had a bad heart. I don't!
Twitching? Oh yeah. The muscles on various places of my body would twitch till there was no end; annoying, but bearable. The good news is that it does not go on forever!
When my anxiety disorder was at its worst, the twitching was the least of my concerns though. That feeling of panic - like you are going to die was the worst. Then after the panic attack came the anticipation of when the next one would come. In between was the constant worrying about dying from any cause (ex. car accident, heart attack, stroke, collapse, just about anything).
I have been on a medication called FLUVOXAMINE for about 7 or 8 years and that has seemed to control my anxiety disorder. Although I have not gotten "full-fledged" panic attacks anymore, the anxiety lingers around. Some days are better than others. Most of the time it is okay. Before I was on this FLUVOXAMINE I tried other medications which did not work, or exasperated the symptoms.
I think that not every medication works the same for everyone. Speak to your Dr. about trying a different medication if the one you are on is not effective. Eventually, you will find the one that is right for you.
The most important thing is to know that you are not alone.
I understand that over 10% of the U.S. population suffers from some type of Panic Attacks or Anxiety Disorder.
