Anxiety Disorder - Worse in the Morning
Does panic anxiety disorder worse in the morning?
Anxiety Question:
Does anyone with panic anxiety disorder feel worse in the morning than later in the day?
Anxiety Answer:
The time you get anxiety is different for everybody with anxiety disorder. For some, it may not be a time but may be a place or situation.
If you have it worse in the morning it may be because you are thinking about everything you have to do that day and it overwhelms you; or your body has stored up adrenaline throughout the night while you slept and it makes you feel anxious.
Try attacking the specific problem of the morning anxiety; maybe go for a jog after you wake up to use up the adrenaline and release endorphins. Or make a list of things to do so they don't overwhelm you. These are just two possible scenarios.
I believe I can remember a time when my anxiety disorder was worse in the morning, I think it was because all I would think is, "here I go, another day with anxiety..." Whereas at night I would feel fine because I knew I'd be going to sleep soon, and with my anxiety I've always felt 'safe' in my bed, resting.
For people with anxiety disorder, I always recommend counseling, of course I recommend it because it helped me a lot. Learning about yourself, why you think the way you do, what stresses you out, why you have anxiety, can help a lot.
