Is Anxiety Disorder Hereditary?

Can anxiety disorder be passed down to your children?

Anxiety Question:

Can anxiety disorder be passed down to your children?
If so, do you think its hereditary or a learned trait?

Anxiety Answer:

Both.

Many times anxiety disorder is a neurological issue and will most likely be hereditary - ADD, depression, OCD, etc.

But it can also be picked up as a learned behavior.

Children learn right from wrong from their parents and if the parent is afraid of something, the child will feel that it is wrong and be afraid of it, too.
