Anxiety and Panic Attacks -
Why so Common?

Why do so many Americans have anxiety and panic attacks?

Anxiety Question:

Why do so many Americans have anxiety and panic attacks?

I have had generalized anxiety disorder since I was 18. I notice that there are a lot of forums devoted to people on one type of anti-depressant or another and a lot of the questions on "Answers" are about people with emotional disorders.

I also read that people who immigrate to America have a better chance of developing these disorders than if they just stayed in their home country. What gives? Why are we so anxious?

Anxiety Answer:

In America we are one of the most overworked, underpaid, and stressed out societies on earth.

That is why anxiety and panic attacks are so common in America.
