Severe Anxiety and Depression during Pregnancy

Has anyone had severe anxiety and depression during pregnancy?

Anxiety Question:

Has anyone had severe anxiety and depression during pregnancy?
Early in my pregnancy I had a blood clot in my placenta. After that I began having horrible anxiety attacks. Then I became severely depressed where I was detached from my baby.

It was awful. I cried and cried then I worried what was happening to the baby with all the crying.

Now that he is born I am still depressed because I was like this at his birth and felt like it was my fault and could have done something to prevent it.

Anxiety Answer:

Yes, I had anxiety and depression.

Early in my pregnancy I had separation of the placenta from my uterus. For months after that all I did was cry and think that my baby was going to die. I thought that with all my stress and crying that I was going to kill my baby.

My doctor gave me some anti depression pills but it didn't work.

After I had him, I had post partum like you wouldn't believe.

Now my son is eight months old and very happy. I'm just happy I have him now. The experience did stop me from wanting any more children. I can't deal with the thought of another pregnancy like that.
