Non Prescribed Options

Are there other options for anxiety and depression, other than prescribed medications?

Anxiety Question:

I have anxiety and depression, are there other options than prescribed medications?

I have been dealing with anxiety and depression for a few years now. I was 17 when signs and symptoms occurred and 19 when I was put on medication. I am now 22 and want to know if there are other options that work just as well as prescribed medications so that maybe I can talk to my doctor about them.

Anxiety Answer:

Yes, there absolutely are other options than prescribed medication.

I myself have grown up with anxiety and depression.

For a number of years my doctor had me on all types of anti depressant medication. Though medication can help, there are many other options available.

There are natural supplements which you can buy at most health food stores or even online. I have found they can work just as well if not better than prescribed antidepressants.

Supplements you should look into are things like St. Johns Wart, 5-HTP, SAM-e and believe it or not Omega-3 fatty acids can also really help.

I have also recently come across a product called mind soothe which looks to be very promising.

Dealing with Anxiety Advice

Avoid Negative People

"The problem with being around negative people is that they increase self doubt, dent your confidence, make you angry or upset, and even give you a personality crisis. I know it's very hard to avoid people you have developed relationships with, but if these people are harming you then you owe it to yourself to reduce the effect these people are having on you."
